We’re living in some interesting, challenging times indeed. Prices are out of control! As families and individuals, we need to adopt some of the downsizing and cost-cutting practices of the corporations we work (or used to work) for. For example, there are some new inexpensive prepaid cellphones available for those who spend too much on their airtime. We’re driving less, of course, and changing our eating habits as well. It’s too bad for the restaurant businesses, but we consumers have lots of choices that are critical to our financial survival these days.
If you don’t keep a budget, and your credit cards are maxed out, cut up or burned up, it’s time to start keeping track of those unnecessary expenditures. Is there a 99 Cent store near you? Did you know that you can get a great can of chili for a buck? We’re talking gourmet here, the kind that’s normally $2.50 or more! A bag of peaches for a dollar. And lots of other items too. Don’t be too proud to go in there! Tools, toys, snacks, produce even, things for the house (such as cleaning supplies) and more, are located in discount stores that you never gave a second look before.
Even if money is not a problem for you, ha ha, chances are that you’re even more susceptible to unnecessary cash or asset drainage. Charges that are no longer efficient; services that you’re paying for but no longer need or even receive; and perhaps, people or entities on your payroll who are no longer producing or productive in your best interest. What has that law firm done for you lately?
You get the idea, and these suggestions aren’t for everyone. The point is that all of us have room for improvement in the money management area. Sleep on it, and you’ll probably have some ideas tomorrow. Change is strange, by definition; so if your friends, family and/or colleagues are uncomfortable with the new you, they’ll get over it soon. After all, you are the one who is actually performing the change (a more difficult role than theirs).
Finally, Sprudio™ is the mental health discount store; and your neighbors won’t see you in here, either. Rather than spending $125 per hour on your therapist; who, frankly, wants you to keep coming back, or attending a motivational seminar (that wears off in a day or so), consider building yourself an audio library of self-help subjects (CD’s and .mp3 Downloads) for habit improvement and performance enhancement- for pennies on the dollar! Again, it’s all really self-help anyway. And remember, we also maintain comprehensive sections on Fears and Phobias and Addictions, too. So if you know someone who could benefit from a little self improvement, send ’em on over! It’s cheaper than (and at least as effective as) any other method of personal change, that we know of.
